thenext.run on the road!

I am terrible at goodbyes so I’ll just get to the point. We are heading to back over to the eastern side of this great country for work and to be closer to family. Whilst we are excited to heading back to Brisbane and the sunshine coast it is with some sadness that I write this. Between COVID and changing work arrangements it has a challenge to get all that’s coming organised - I’ll congraulate my wife Talia upfront - she has made it all happen like magic… But now back to the running stuff.

Whilst a club runner before I came to WA, it was here in Perth where I found people of “my tribe”. I have throughly enjoyed my Saturday morning runs around the Perth foreshore with BT Run Club, my first trail runs with Perth Trail Series and the craziness and laughter with Ultra Series WA. I have made friend’s and memories and cannot say it enough - there is a fantastic vibe for running in Perth, on and off the road that I haven’t witnessed elsewhere. The recent Australian Men’s Back Yard Ultra record set right here in Perth is proof of it - there is magic here.

I have clocked more kms and worn out so many pairs of shoes in these past 3 years and even started talking about running here at thenext.run. thenext.run will continue in QLD and WA - look out Moreton Bay Road Runners I have found another way to talk about running!

So what next - we are taking a 10 week trip to QLD. Camping all the way to the top of WA, across the NT and up to Cape York before heading south to Brisbane. 4 people in a blue hilux with a pop top tent and a couple of swags. Running where I can and looking to understand more of this great land. Once we get settled in QLD it will be time to jump on the plane and get back to WA for Delirious West. Hopefully without quarantine!

We are off on Friday but look forward to seeing you all again. There are some great runs in QLD too you should know. Please look them up. I’ll be there, thinking about thenext.run
